  • When using VRay 7 in the C4D version 2025.1.1, selecting motion graphics in the scene can lead to infinite light caching

I have uploaded the problem video and engineering files, and it seems that this issue only occurs in version c4d2025.1.1. I did not encounter this problem using version c4d2024.4.0 Click image for larger version

    Hello 123456_,

Thank you for reporting. It seems that the issue is present in Cinema 4D 2025.1.0 and later versions. I have logged this (VC4D-2635) and it will be further investigated.

Hi 123456_, after some investigation, this seems to be regression in the MoGraph selection tag itself. This regression causes our scene change detection to falsely be triggered and update the contents of the Cloner object.

I have reported this to Maxon (as "ITEM#566767 MoGraph selection tag invalidates Cloner Cache dirty flags on any user action"). Unfortunately, until this is resolved by Maxon there seems to be no workaround for using the MoGraph selection in interactive rendering.

Thank you for your answer,But I found that interactive rendering can be used normally without using light caching, so is it possible that there is a problem with the light caching Click image for larger version

After some further investigation - there really was a slight problem with the LightCaching. We are going to fix that problem, but the problem I described previously remains - having the MoGraph selection would trigger an interactive update on each click / selection change or other minor changes in the scene (that would not normally trigger an update).
