  • Error Message when rendering and stops rendering

I have a scene working on for a few days, but today I got always an error message and the rendering stops when starting interactive or rendering.
I haven't change anything since yesterday, except using the latest nightly build.
I copied everything into a new file and seems it to work again...

Any idea why this came up? Thanks

Hi haniel1107, from the posted message, it seems like you have malformed geometry, which fails to displace properly (probably due to wrong normals from the geometry). Without more information on your scene we can not really help further.

You can try to pinpoint the exact problematic object by disabling the displacement from objects, or completely disabling objects until you find the one causing the error.

In order to further investigate this, we would need an example scene with this object.

Hello deyan.hadzhiev, thanks a lot! I think you gave me the needed information. I had a displacement tag on a boolean. When I move it to the subobject, it works. When putting it back it crashs.
Strange is only it didn't appear from the beginning, don't know if this could be a reaseon, but it happenend nonstop when changing the perspective. Thanks!!

Keep in mind, that some procedural objects (especially Boolean in latest Cinema 4D versions, which has some problems yet) may generate geometry indeterminstically (meaning that on different evaluations / runs / renders they may generate different underlying triangle / quad primitives ). In the end you may have one render successful, and another produce an error.
