Volume Grid crashes in C4D R23

Hey,

When I switch between projects that has a Volume Grid, Cinema 4D sometimes crashes (often). Here is the message that appears:

libvrayc4d volume grid dylib has crashed

Extra notes: This is not happening in R25, no crashes. In R23 if I disable the Volume Grid before switching projects, it does not crash.

Thanks for looking into this, as it really breaks my flow

(Vray 7 hotfix 2 v7.00.02 from Mars 11 2025) and latest R23 version.

Just to make sure we fully understand the situation and try to reproduce it properly:

• When you mention "switching projects", are you opening a new project while another is already open, or switching tabs?
• Does it happen with any project that has a Volume Grid, or only certain scenes?
• Does it happen with specific Volume Grid cache files?
• If possible, share a simple scene where the issue can be reproduced easily.
• Could you please share a screenshot of the exact error message you see when the crash occurs?
