  • Texture that shows the capture from a camera

Hello, probably not realisable, but who knows. I would wish a texture that will be created by a camera and can be placed on a monitor / tv screen for example. The texture would have its own camera sensor that can be placed anywhere. The texture is of course only generated during rendering. The application could be a rearview camera in a car or a security cam etc...... Hope this makes sense...

Hello haniel1107 Thank you for the idea. We already have such proposition in the Aha portal, you can check it out, vote and leave a comment if you want: https://chaosvray.ideas.aha.io/ideas/VRAYMAX-I-43

The Aha Portal is a platform where you can suggest new features or improvements and other people can vote for them. Also, we can see how many people could be interested in this.

I am sure you have already thought about it but there's a way to mimic that.

      1. Set one V-Ray Camera with the same point of view as the security camera, or rearview, or any you wish. Render an animation of that view.
      2. You add the Render Animation as a Bitmap Animation Texture and then apply it to the geometry you want. Finally, render the whole thing.

There are comply of things to consider here such as Render Time and Resolution of the Animated Texture. Make sure to consider that when rendering the first batch.

Hi viktor_angelov, yes thanks. This is the worklflow I am using right now for sucht things. I thought with such an solution would save you some steps and yes of course the render time would increase, but would be great... thanks..
