  • new vray for houdini user - no access to anything

    Hi everyone,

    So I got my vray for houdini license yesterday.. and let me just start with saying I have contacted support, as I think it's what I'm meant to be doing?

    But I just want to flag the fact that you can buy a full priced product off the website and when you get your download link, its to a super old version of houdini from last december.. now I happen to know that everything currently is in the nightly builds, but my account doesn't automatically get access to those.. so not I just paid for a not-that-cheap license compared to other offerings and I can't even use or access the program?

    I'm guessing support will get back to me somewhat soon, and it will all be fine but from a new user experience, this is pretty terrible. Had I not been using nightly builds for max or maya in previous years I would not have known to even ask.
    Just a thought, but maybe accounts that purchase vray for houdini should be auto flagged and have a link provided in the initial email until an up to date stable build is ready?

    anyway.. I look forward to using it when I can

    Did you already contacted the Support team regarding providing access to the Nighly Builds?
    If yes can you share the case-number from the automatic email from our system?

      After buying a license, access should be granted automatically. Furthermore, on my personal Email it took support 4 tries to give me the correct access
      I own Vray in 5 different platofroms, and this happened multiple times
      And I referred a colleague to test a trial last month, it took 4 days and couple of Emails for him to get the correct access from support. He initially thought that Houdini 18 is not supported(as the trial links doesn't have an installer for 18
      Another case is after upgrading my Vray for Modo licenses to Vray Next, I actually needed to re-ask for the nightly access again
      Question here is why??
      This whole nightly access thing is just not necessary at all.. you guys could do better!

        I have contacted support through the support email and also through the form on the website, a bit earlier tonight (australia time) I got an auto generated email indicated something had been received at least.

        Your ticket number is: 289-676-2453 

        I still don't have access though.. more waiting
