  • (Resolved) Object level opacity

I have an object which has volume scatter and vraymat into a blend material and I need to fade it out. As in opacity. There is no opacity on the volume scatter.

Is there an object level opacity to overcome this, couldn't see how to do it.

        Hi,

The alpha Matte is additive, each of those parta is getting an alpha value of 0.417, so when two parts overlap you get 0.417x2, and so forth. This will also happen with transparency, the more objects you overlap the more the transparency stacks. For this kind of animation, that require a full fade in/out, just go for a post solution, in comp.

        Best,

But there is only one part. This is my point. One object with alpha matte set to what ever.

            Hi again,

The alpha still stacks through the surfaces. This is the expected behavior.

Just a stack of planes (single sided).

Alpha set to 0.5, and you can see the alpha starting to stack up as the planes overlap.

Yes that is unfortunate in this case but probably more useful in most cases.
Wishlist I guess no big deal.
