  • crypthomatte user attribute

    Hello,
I have geometry, with ptimitive attribute "class". I convert this attribute from integer to string with changing the name form class to piece, and in RE crypthomatte write "piece". Check screenshots 01 and 02. But as out can see on screen nk_01 and nk_02 here is only one selection available, and crypthomatte look black

Hello again Mikhalenko , in order to use cryptomatte by user attribute the objects should be packed geos /not fragments/.

This is the sort of stuff that should be in the manual.
Useful practical tips, not just going through each parameter and saying what it is.

That is correct Dubbie99 , we already thinking of how to improve our help pages.

                Hey Dubbie99 ,

While I agree completely with you that there's a lot of room for improvement, this information specifically was already present in the documentation:

                Thank you!

                  You are correct Gosho,
Sorry I hadn't checked that page lately. My gripe was more of a general one. It's really good to hear that you are actively working on making the help better.
I really liked the old Vray Max help that had lots of renders showing what parameters do visually etc.
Because Houdini is not so intuitive sometimes, it would be nice to see more screenshots of the node editor sometimes. Often it is not at all intuitive how even to plug in a node.
