  • Override ObjectID on Vrscene Import?

    Is there a way to override the objectID on a vrscene import node? I don't need to drill down far, just need the whole imported file to have a new object ID.
    I see it's an option in Maya but I don't see it in Houdini.

    My about Vray tab says:
    V-Ray for Houdini hash:faf8cf1 from 16 Dec 2020 18:15
    V-Ray Core 5.00.50 [c3af6122] from 15 Dec 2020

    Thanks!

    Hey The3DStig ,

    I can't provide you with a way to do this using Object IDs. However, the Cryptomatte element in the default "Node" mode should give you a separate mask for each VRScene.

    //
    As of recently (latest nightly builds), there's also the option to assign individual string, primitive attribute values to the VRaySceneRef primitives (when VRScene SOP -> Main -> Advanced -> Expand Primitives is enabled, and an Unpack SOP is placed after it) for use with the Cryptomatte element in "Per Attribute Value" mode.
    *note that "Use Rayserver Instancer" must be enabled in the V-Ray Object Properties for the parent Geometry node for this to work.
