  • How to add variable to Vray Image File Node Path?

Hi, Is there any way to add variable in the file path of the Image Vray Node? I can't find a way to pass my param variable into my Bitmap Filepath...
    Any idea?

    Thx

    Hi creac,

You can use channel expressions anywhere in the file path or switch between different textures using a switch node.

Check the file I attached. There I linked several drop-down lists and a toggle to come shader nodes, switches and in the image node paths, and it shows several approaches on how to deal with this.

      Hi david.anastacio ,
Thanks for the file. I am trying to switch between paths actually. Switch node inside the Shader means that I would have to input manually into the switch node, which is ok for a few but I have a lot so it's quite laborious.
Ideally I am looking to an expression for the path of the Image node similar to this "${HIP}/TexturesToTest/DiffuseMap{var}" where my var parameter is promoted to the Shader node. By doing this I don't have to type all my paths. Just switch between value to update my path.

        Hey,

Sure, just use a string parameter instead of a drop-down menu and link it the same way, through a channel string expression like in the image nodes of the file I uploaded.

        best,
        David.
