  • [HOU-3080] Foam shader not working as a phantom object

    I have a particle sim which I am rendering using the foam shader. If I include that object in the forced phantom parameter on the vray rop I, it renders the full object as though it was in forced objects rather than just the reflection. Is this a known bug or am I missing a setting?

    I should say I'm using V-Ray Core 5.10.20 in Houdini 18.5.499 - py3.

    Hey lloydwood ,

    Technically, the reason is that this is simply not supported/implemented - it's not a bug per se. Visibility controls are available on the Advanced tab of the Foam shader but we have not linked them to the ROP lists. I'll log it as an improvement request and get back to you in this thread once this is implemented.
