There seems to be a new trend of not having all features across all platforms...us Maya users arent getting Chaos Scatter tool as things stand. I wonder if these differences will be reflected in the prices? Cosmos in Maya has made some tasks much much faster than they would have been without it, so I would be disappointed as a Houdini user.

Tnx for your insistence, the initial Cosmos support will be added to nightlies very soon.Last edited by bdancer; 08-08-2022, 02:37 AM.

It's already in the nightlies for a few weeks so you could give it a try.

Well, probably Cosmos service is not installed / running? QAs may help.

Hey ronald_a ,
I managed to reproduce the "connection refused" problem by removing the Cosmos Browser from the Windows Add/Remove panel. Could you please verify you actually have a "Chaos Cosmos" entry there?
A couple more things that pop to mind:
1. Are you using the installer or the zip builds? The zip builds won't work right away - the Chaos Cosmos service needs to be installed from the installer itself - you can then safely remove the V-Ray files generated by the installer in case you prefer using the zip builds.
2. Could you please copy the info from the Houdini top menu -> V-Ray -> About V-Ray so we can test with the exact version that you are using?
Hope that helps!

Hey Gosho.Genchev ,
we use zip builds so installing the service did the trick. thanks for the pointer!
