  • Apply VrayToon effect to specific objects in a non Solaris render

    Hello.

Previously we were able to apply different vraytoon effects to specific objects thanks to a exclude and include list. Now with vray 7 (and even in last 6.2 versions) that list is gone and the workflow described for Solaris seems no to work on a regular non Solaris render.
So how we should do to have different toon lines for specific objects in a non Solaris render?

    Thanks

    Hey gagui ,

The Exclude List and Exclude Type parameters are still present under the Edit Parameter Interface gear icon - you can unhide them there. I'll see how we can take care of the visibility for 'vanilla' Houdini for these in the future.

    Best regards!

Ok. I think is better to leave this exclude list visible while there is no other way to give different toon effects to specific objects.

Is there any chance to have same functionality present in Solaris for non Solaris renders? I mean having the option to override the toon effect with a material.

        Hey gagui ,

That might be a possibility but I'd very much suggest using Solaris-based workflows in Solaris itself. We've been stretching ourselves thin trying to support both 'vanilla' and USD-based workflows while also bringing new features to both integrations.

        Best regards!
