  • animated lightintensity not updating in IPR/final rendering if light is constraint

    the title says it all.

    - open the supplied scene, go to fr 25 and start ipr. everything is black because intensity is set to 0
    - now move the timeslider to frame 50 --> stays black.

it seems to update when the light is animated (translated). worst then the ipr is the fact, that it will also not translate when writing out vrscene.

    Thanks,

    Ronny

    Hey there,

looks like the animated intensity is not triggering an IPR update for the lights if the starting value is 0, for some reason. Logging it at the moment. Strangely enough, if you start out with 0.00001, things work as expected on my end.

As to the constraints - I can't find the scene file you've mention in your post. I tried using the Parent and Look-At constraints with a Null and a V-Ray light - could not reproduce the bug here. That hip file would be very much appreciated!

    Thank you!

        Ah, OK, got it now.

Hopefully the devs will fix this soon. I hope you don't mind me suggesting a way to work around this - from my tests it appears that if you add one more null between the camera and the light, and you use the parent constraint on Null2 so it looks at Null1, and then you parent the light to Null2, the export is correct.

        Hope that helps!

yep, already did that, so no worries.

For some reason, animating light intensity/turning lights on/off is somehow haunting me because I keep having issues with it (talking more about maya actually). So I just wanted to make sure this one gets fixed.
