Hello. Why VrayVolumeGridCache doesn't load vdb files? It says that only .aur files accepted. For loading VDB I need use file node instead? Also I simulated smoke, use DOP I/o for importing it from DOP, then with Wrangle divide in on 100, applied on it V-rayPhxShaderSim , and when my camera inside this volume, rendering took veeeeery long time. volume not dense, light smoke with simple scene. What the proper way for visualize smoke and other volume effects? Even if my camera outside volume rendering too way long

    Hey there,

yup, both native Houdini volumes and VDBs should be loaded through the File SOP. We decided to go that route so people can setup their scenes using native Houdini nodes.

Can you give us a simple setup ? I really can't say much based on your post. We have this guide which discusses ways to speed up rendering, maybe it will be helpful : https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...ering+In-Depth

    All the best!

Hi. Thanks. For answer. About slow rendering, your article help. I just increased steps % up to 1000, and render starts much faster

        Yup, that makes sense.

I would still love to take a look at your scene, if that's possible. V-Ray is pretty fast when it comes to rendering volumes so maybe it's something specific to your setup.

Either way, good to know you've found a solution.

        All the best!

Hello. Yes. please check scene by the link. I have increased step% up to 1000, but if you decrease it to 90% you will notice that rendering toooo looong
