  • Vray Sun and Direct light issue

Having this really weird issue where my vray sun is only rendering across half my scene. First image is top down view of my scene, you can see a hard line crossing the terrain slightly below the middle of the frame. The next image is just a poly plane and the sun light in the scene with the sun pointing straight down at the mesh and the camera pointing down as well. The line is in the same place regardless of where the camera is pointed.
This only shows up in the Lighting and my Sun LightSelect pass. The GI (Which is using a vray sky) appears as expected.
This is with vray_adv_41203_houdini17.5.293_5dc878e_5346 but it's been happening with previous nightly versions as well.
Here is my scene file with everything stripped out except the Sun light, mesh and camera.

    Thanks!

Update: I should have said this is a GPU render. Also it appears to have to do with Light Cache and have Use Camera Path on. With Brute Force it doesn't happen, and with Use Camera Path off it doesn't happen.

Hi I'm looking into this, it doesn't happen with default settings, so I need to dig a bit more. I will message here once I found the reason for this strange light issue.

I've couldn't find the reason for this bug, but I reported it in our system, HOU-1250 is its number.
