consistent errors on farm or black frames when rendering VDBs/volumes

We get consistent errors on farm or black frames when rendering VDBs/volumes. I have a hard time figure it out from the vrscene creation and the frame log but this is what i know so far:

-less voxels renders fine but if i have a decent amount the errors start
-the errors are consistent if i retry the vrscene or/and the frame i get the same black frame or error
- so far i have got it in all my volume/vdb renders

Hello LeoYfver , for what I can see, you should export vrscenes again. 1023 is looking significantly smaller than 1022. In order to reduce vrscene size you can cache the volumes directly in vdb file, this way the vdb file is just referenced in vrscene.

tried that on the farm and got the same render error. This also happens consistently, atleast every 10 frames.

saved it as a vdb and read it through the file node. The vrscenes got small and the flicker and error is gone so thanks for the tip and this will be the worklfow we will use. But I am still curious why the vdb as bgeo gets black frames on the farm.

Cool, I am glad that this help you. I'm currently investigating those black frames. Probably some bug with huge volumes, because with larger voxel size I haven't got any errors/black render.
