(Fixed, Fixed) [HOU-1567] [HOU-1568] intersecting hair causes hole in render

When hair is intersecting and is in forced phantom it creates a hole in the render(like matte)

left render is when both are in force object
right render is when the hair is i forced Phantom

can you guys try increasing the Renderer -> Options -> Materials -> Max Transparency Levels ? 250 seems to do it for me with your scene.

Gosho.Genchev yes it does. But i hope this is not the supposed behaviour, can it be fixed?

Dev team says yes, this can be improved. I'll tag the thread name with the issue numbers - I'll ping you guys once I know who can handle it and how long it may take.

Andrei put quite a bit of effort into updating the code - the changes for Alembic hair is already in the nightly builds, with the same changes coming for 'live' hairs in the scene coming soon. You may also notice a render speed increase now that tweaking the Max. Transparency Levels is not necessary.
