Suddenly all our lights stopped render that are in hda or subnets.

We had a recent request that lights must respect subnet "visiblechildren" control.
Since your subnet is not selected for export it's not evaluated and lights from it are not exported.
So the questions are:
1. Should lights be exported from non-selected subnets (candidate, forced)?
2. Should lights export respect subnet "visiblechildren" control.

it should behave as close as possible to mantra. which it did before. The candidate lights just check if the light is on or off not if the subnet is. My opinion is to revert back

But subnet is "off" now (not in candidates not it forces) - isn't it?

Sorry I dont follow. I would just put some lights in a subnet, put down a mantra node and see how it behaves. This new behaviour is confusing.
