  • (Closed) [HOU-1806] Use Ray Server Instancer Motion Blur

    Hi,

I found a bug with Houdini Vray CPU "Use Rayserver Instancer" and Physical Camera Motion Blur.

It looks like that if "Use Rayserver Instancer" is enabled and you switch on the Motion Blur in the Physical Camera there are no Instances rendered at all. If you switch off "Use Rayserver Instancer it renders like expected"

I use Houdini 18.0.391 nad Vray Nighly Build from 08.04.2020 (vray_adv_43002_houdini18.0.391_3454312_683

    Cheers

    Hey, tobiasroesli ,

managed to reproduce it here and the dev team is working to fix it.
In case you're in a rush - this happens when motion blur based on transformations (Geo node -> Render tab -> Sampling -> Geometry Blur set to "No Velocity Blur") is enabled and there is actually no animation going on. You could either set the Geometry Velocity Blur parameter to "Velocity Blur", or add a transform SOP and animate the objects to move 0.00001 units during the entire timeline.

    Cheers!
