  • (Fixed) [HOU-1897] instancing lights bug

    Hi,

We use a changing points template to instance lights upon.
That works again like it should in the viewport but if you render and or save it to vrscene it behaves strange.

Scene to reproduce the error is attached with description.

If you change the time slider you can see that you have different primitives for each frame. The scene copies lights upon that primitives. In the viewport you can see that it works.

After exporting the frame range 1-5 to disk as vray scenes and render it you can see the following problem:
Switching from a frame with a light to a frame with no or less lights does not work. The previous lights remain in the render. You can switch to a frame with more lights than the previous frame though or to a frame with same light count. Then they update correct.

IPR also shows that behavior until you reinitialize.

I hope it does not sound to complicated...scene and example picture describes it very well.

Do you have an idea how long that would take to fix?

    kind regards
    Jon

The dev team has been notified - hopefully this won't take long to resolve. I'll message as soon as I have more info.
