Black render in Bucket, works in progressive

I just used the expand primitives functionality to hide some geo in a vray proxy being rendered.

As soon as I started using this functionality, my bucket renders turned black, progressive/IPR renders do not.

Is this a known issue?

Not to my knowledge, no.
