  • (Fixed) [HOU-2373] New frame buffer gives QT errors

Hi. Just got upgraded to Houdini 18.5.408 + VRay 5 and started poking around. When I add post processing items in the frame buffer (LUT, exposure) I get these errors:

"Qt Warn: QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 3
Qt Warn: QPainter::setCompositionMode: Painter not active
Qt Warn: QPainter::end: Painter not active, aborted"

It mostly seems to work anyway, but sometimes values reset and the exposure node has disappeared a couple of times. I haven't found anyone else with the same problems, should I ask to reinstall everything or is this a known bug? I still have old versions of Houdini and VRay installed, if it makes any difference.

    Hey Monkeybrother ,

We've known about the issue for a while but never noticed broken functionality so the priority for a fix was low. I'll see if I can reproduce the issues you've mentioned and get back to you.
I assume re-installing will not solve the problem, neither would removing old Houdini/V-Ray versions.

    Best regards!
