  • (Done) [HOU-2405] Vray image file node - Enabled OCIO disables other color management settings

    Hi!
We would like the texture color management to be exclusively handled by the OCIO settings on the image file node when its enabled.
There is as of vray 5 three parameters controlling texture color management.
    1. BitmapBuffer_color_space
    2. BitmapBuffer_rgb_color_space
    3. All the settings under the OCIO tab.
The problem for us is that the bitmap buffer settings are conflicting with the OCIO settings causing texture color issues and general confusion.
To us it makes sense to disable any effect of the two bitmap buffer settings when the ocio settings are enabled. Disable in this case setting them to None and Raw respectively.

    Cheers!

    /Hannes

    Hey Hannes,

The requested change is now in the nightly builds, starting with today's nightlies.

    Hope that helps!

Quick question: Is the fix included in the vray4 nightlies as well?

          Hey Hannes,

No, we figured since the additional transfer function option was added to the Bitmap plugin in V-Ray 5, we don't need to touch V-Ray 4 for this. I'll check with the devs if they're willing to change this for Next as well and message again.

If you don't mind me asking - do you switch between Next and 5 a lot, or do you want this for compatibility with old scenes ?

          Best regards!
