  • forced material export takes long

    Hi,

we are testing vray 5 with some vray 4 projects which we will need to transition from 4 to 5 and found out that the forced material export takes a lot longer in vray 5 than it did in vray 4. In a scene with around 50 materials, export in 4 (preparing scene for frame) works pretty much instantly, while with vray 5 this take around 15 to 20 seconds. This is not a dealbreaker, just something that should be looked into.

Are you sure the problem is caused by forced materials? Can you share the scene?

I managed to reduce a scene which shows the issue (not as strong as the full scene, but still). It's basically just a plain rendering. With the forced materials (/mat/*) it takes about 8-10 seconds longer to start rendering (only with vray5). I will send you the packed up scene via mail.

I'll need the scene, can't reproduce it.

Found the e-mail, was in spam. I've tested and times are identical on my side, 4.3 - 1min 16 seconds ; 5.0 - 1min 15 seconds. Which V-Ray Next build you are comparing with?
