  • (Fixed) [ HOU-2506 ] ROP override material and displacement

    Hi,

When using displacement in a shader and we override that shader in a ROP with the override material option, the displacement of the original shader still renders. No matter if that new override shader displacement or not.
When using an override material in the ROP, that should override every material properties, surface, displacement, volume. And if that override material also has displacement, that should also be rendered.

    V-Ray Next and Windows.

    Best,
    David.

Not sure this is easy/possible to implement, but I've added your request in our system.

      Hi chakarov,
I already discussed this with bdancer on a mail, and it looks like the way it works now is not a bug, but the result or client request you had.
This creates some issues for us at the moment, when we make an override in the material we want to override all components, material and surface.
The plan now would be to add a new option on the material overrides mode drop-down list.
Material: overrides only the material component.
Material + surface: overides the material and surface components.

      Best,
