  • vray 4 ipr keeps restarting

    Hi,

we started having problems with ipr restarting all the time (vray 4). we have recently moved to 18.5 so we had to update to a new (nightly) build. With the vfh for 18.5 builds ipr is basically not usable for us (maybe this happened pre 18.5, but we have not updated vray for some time before 18.5 because everything we needed worked). This does not happen with a completely new scene, but at some point, every scene shows a similar behaviour with ipr. I can send a scene via mail.

    Hey ronald_a ,

That's surprising because the changes that caused such issues in V-Ray 5 were specifically for Solaris and we had them resolved. Please do send a scene over so we can try to figure it out!

    Best regards!

This seems to be resolved in latest vray5 nightly build for us at least

              Hi Erik,

thanks for the information, I know. We are just not ready to jump onto vray5. Have you moved production to 5?

One project is still using vray4 but the rest we have moved to vray5 and new projects start with vray5.

good to know. I suppose this means the transition did run rather smoothly (or at least it is now). Maybe it's time to do the switch.

We didn't notice any bigger stuff. We were running nightlies of vray4 tho which maybe reduced the size of the jump. Mostly there was stuff with the new VFB if I remember correcly, but most of that is sorted now.
