  • vrayDeadline node issues in 5.10

    V-Ray for Houdini hash:fb365cd from 16 Jun 2021 11:44
    V-Ray Core 5.10.20 [5322b47e] from 4 Jun 2021

I've tried houdini 18.5.499 and 18.5.596. in both cases with the latest vray (zip install or regular install) the Submit to Deadline button no longer does anything for me. I've also noticed that when dropping down the node none of the deadline fields like pool/group are filled.

Putting down the deadline node from awsThinkbox does work.

Is the vray deadline node being retired? or is this something broken on my side?

    Thanks for any info

Same here on Houdini 18.5.672 and vray 5.10.20 and Deadline 10.1.18.4
The pool/group fields are populated after I dropped down a regular Deadline node, which gives me the error FailRenderException : Error: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'pyVersion' when I try to submit from the "original" Deadline node.

Submitting from the vrayDeadline node does nothing, no Job on Deadline, no output in the Houdini console.

Can somebody give me a hint where to troubleshoot?

      Hi bibi5000 ,
Is the V-Ray installed or set via houdini.env ?
What python version is your Houdini 19.0.383, py2 or py3 ?
Can you try new V-Ray 5 Update 2 if the problem still exist.

heya i just tried it with the latest vray for houdini 18.5.499. I'll try again in H19 when i can. But just wanted to let you know that it still doesn't work. no matter if i use the vray_for_houdini.json (loading vray zip from the local disk) or set the env vars manually (where we load vray zip from a network share).

        Our OS is windows 10...

        its a curious problem!
