  • Only 64 thread in Win 11 pro instead of 128

    hello,
    I'm trying Windows 11 pro .
    I have a AMD 3990X
On Linux my vray benchmarck is more than 65 000
    On windows 10 Pro it's more than 57 000
On windows 11 Pro it's just more than 34 000.

I have investigate to understand , so i have intalled all patch from microsoft and AMD.
    But the difference still here.

So, i have run Houdini and start a render, i see in the statistic VFB that my cpu appear as 64 threads.. and in system monitor, my CPU is just a little more than 50% occupied during the render.
I double check by starting a Mantra render and all my 128 threads are used.
It's not an houdini fault because with mantra it's work.
It's not a windows 11 fault because i can use 100% CPu 128 threads with mantra and others.

I have only this issue with Vray ( in houdini and the Benchmark )

Do you know what happend ?

Thanks for the feedback, this is not expected to happen. The score seems to be low for this CPU
Have you tried any of the fixes that AMD/Microsoft released this week? or this is a clean install ?
I will report back when I have information about this

Muhammed_Hamed hi thanks for your answer.

It's a fresh new Win10 pro install updated to Win 11 pro.
I have installed the Microsoft patch and also the Amd Patch. ( chipset etc. )

I think i have find the guilty ..

I have an Asrock TR40 Taichi motherboard and they give us a lot of app with the drivers. 1 of them is to setup the CPU.
      I have uninstalled this app.
I have donwload the AMD Ryzen Master app from AMD website and setup this one in creator mode with overdrive on.
My score is now +66000 and it's use all my 128 threads.
It's up to 4.1Ghz wich is to high for me. In linux i setup it to not go higher than 3.6ghz / 80°c. and i have a score of +65000.

I'm save, Windows is always less responsive and slower than linux, but anyway, it's work.

Glad to hear you solved your issue. On another note, you can find system requirements for V-Ray here
We don't officially support windows 11 yet
