  • Does UV randomize work in H19?

    Hello guys,
    I just tried UV randomize to get rid of tiling in H19.383 ...
    I just have a basic model with mapping. Everything is fine.
    Than I plug UV randomize to UVW Gen input and nothing is rendered.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks,
    Vojtech

    There is UV tab in the Image File node, you could select randomize uv generator from a drop-down menu there.

          Hey woytha ,

          We'll update the documentation with an example file - apologies for that. The way to go about this is to plug some UVW Generator into the Randomizer, and choose one of the Seed modes. I've attached an example showing the setup that you're most likely looking for - a tiled UV Named VOP is plugged into the Randomizer, and the Seed is set to "UV Tile". You can then control the blending using the "Tile Blend" option, and limit the variation from the "Variances" tab.

          Scene -> Link.

          Best regards!

            Thanks for a swift answer, it works now!
            Btw will be stochastic tiling available at some point in Houdini as well?
            Best regards,

              It's labeled "UV Tile", we could consider renaming it.
