  • [VC4D-1259] Fog in reflection

    Hello,

I would like to have the fog visible in the reflection of a water surface, but when I enable the fog I see through the water surface.

    Here is an example scene:

Here is when I render without the fog. I see the cubes in the reflection which is normal.

Here is when I render with a fog. I just want to have the fog in reflection...

houdini 18.5.596 - vray 5.20.20 but I had this bug in older versions too.

    Here is the scene :

    Thanks

    Hey Lucas,

Reverse (SOP) the surface direction of the reflective grid seems to solve the issue on my end.
I'll look into this behavior and tag the thread with the ticket number.

    Best regards!

      Hey Gosho.Genchev,

      I did some other test.
Giving a thickness change how it react too.

I tried to reverse the surface,
as it is also changing how the refraction react I had to "reverse" the ior from 1.33 to 0.74 to have a similar result but I still have strange stuff in refract.

I'll probably render the surface twice in order to have the good reflection and refraction.
