  • [PHI-5634] Rendering Artifacts on VDBs

    Scattering a file and using "packed disk primitive " I'm getting artifacts using the GPU, (I believe this is an old bug that came back) this doesn't happen on the CPU using one of the latest nightlies. Rendering volumes on the CPU are pretty slow, so please if this can be fixed asap it would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

    Scene attached. I'm pushing the density on these examples so you can see the bug.

    Dear hsz, hello.

    I have just tested your scene and could approve that you have reached the V-Ray GPU limitation described here.
    By decreasing the count to 4, as shown here, you could see that the artifacts are gone.

    Improvement is already wished and logged at the Phoenix FD project.
    I have added now to the list this thread too.

    It is helpful to mention it here and improve our V-Ray for Houdini docs with a note about it.
