  • (Fixed)[HOU-3246]Lights object mask

Hello. I've notice that GPU rendering of lights with objects mask works ok locally but once the scene is sent through deadline or to chaos cloud this disables totally the light.

Is this a known bug or somethig you were aware of?

    Hey gagui ,

I've tried reproducing the issue with no success. Would you mind elaborating a bit more on the exact problem?

    > GPU rendering of lights with objects mask

Is that the "Illumination Mask" parameter on the lights, or is that the Light Reflection/Refraction Mask parameters on the V-Ray Object Properties of the Geometry node?

As of June 17th, there is support in the nightly builds for the V-Ray Object Properties Light Reflection/Refraction masks for CUDA/RTX rendering - is that what is giving you trouble? A simple scene would also help a lot to avoid confusion, if possible.

    Best regards!

      Hi Gosho.
Ok, I send you a sample scene.

I also attach two images. The first one has been rendered locally with GPU RTX engine, all ok. The second one is exactly the same scene rendered through deadline in the same computer using export option of deadline.
As you can see the red light which has only the pig included in the Illumination Mask list in the local render doesn't affect the grid as expected but in the other image the light seems to exclude all the objects or something.

I can confirm that this is also happening in CPU render mode.
        Anyone having the same problem?

Hello gagui , looks like V-Ray Standalone can't work with illumination masks exported by V-Ray for Houdini. I've reported it. As a workaround if you use V-Ray for Houdini as Standalone, the problem will be solved.

            Hello Georgy.

Yes I know that I can render it in houdini standalone. That's what I'm doing while this gets fixed but the problem comes if I need to send a scene to render on chaos cloud for example. Big, big problem...

You should fix it as soon as possible, please.

            Thanks!

                Hey gagui ,

The builds for the Chaos Cloud have been updated to support the Illumination Mask export from Houdini.

                Hope that helps!
