  • [network rendering] randomly missing texture when network traffic is bussy

I have a forest scene, lots of plants and other cached files, rendering across network computers, textures randomly missing on the result images, when reduced scene it back to normal , so I guess , vray start rendering without waiting for all asset loaded(caused by reading timeout maybe), is there any way to force it wait for all asset loaded.

    Hey len_xie ,

A long time ago we had a studio that mentioned a similar issue - in their case, it turned out that setting the "HOUDINI_ACCESS_METHOD" environment variable to "3" resolved it. We've documented it here: https://docs.chaos.com/display/VRAYHOUDINI/IPR+Tab

Could you try that to see if it helps?

    Best regards!

thank you! I'll try that, currrently I set the deadline throttling option in repository setting to limit workers network usage, seams stablized the rendering, but I will revert the setting and try environment variable later.

unfortunately that environment variable did not solve the problem, I guess I just pushed the network load too far, back to use deadline throttling option for now.

@Gosho.Genchev Hi, the random texture missing issue still there, I even upgraded the routers, network adapters, from 1000mbps to 10000mbps, with throttling option, still have the issue, is there a way to force vray cache network asset and use it instead, other than download it every frame?
