  • (open)[HOU-4319] Issues with progressive gpu rendering in solaris

    Hello,
I am having multiple issues with progressive rendering in solaris with gpu/rtx.

    1. If I enable "Use Production Render Mode" while in rtx/gpu mode with progressive rendering, it still uses the settings from the IPR tab instead of production settings. I don't have this issue with bucket rendering or CPU mode (with progressive). To clarify, if I am using rtx/gpu, but using bucket mode, the production settings I use for bucket sampling are used. Also if I am in CPU mode and using progressive rendering, it correctly uses my production settings for progressive mode instead of the ipr tab.

    2. The main issue, however, is that when in rtx/gpu mode with progressive rendering, when I hit render to mplay or render to disk (on the usdrender rop) all progressive settings (whether from image sampling tab or ipr tab) are ignored. For example, if I hit render to mplay it will ignore settings from the image sampling tab and settings from ipr (which is shouldn't be using but based on the last bug I just tried changing it to see what would happen). It will just keep rendering the frame cleaning up the noise. This makes it impossible to render multiple frames because it never gets past frame 1 (if it takes a long time to resolve all the noise). It just keeps resolving noise and cleaning up the frame and ignoring any setting. Just like the last issue, if I use bucket mode with RTX/GPU or progressive mode with CPU I dont' have that issue. It uses my render settings normally.

Any help would be appreciated. I know my render settings are setup correctly because it all works fine with CPU rendering for bucket and progressive and it works fine with rtx/gpu in bucket mode. It only doesn't work in rtx/gpu mode with progressive.

    Thanks
