  • ACESCG in Solaris is a bit buggy?

Whenever I render in Solaris with ACESCG, it's kinda buggy. Let me explain.

For example I have a texture which is (utility - srgb - texture).

I set it up in my vray file to read it as utility - srgb -texture and when doing render in viewport, I get a much darker image color than in my texture file. (Or substance painter).. The only way I've managed to get a closer color is by enabling OCIO and setting in to (utility - srgb - texture) and out to (ACESCG)

Tho sometimes if I plug a file or modify a parameter in my vray mtl, the difuse color shifts.. Is it just the viewport render that is laggy?

Also, normals are often flipping or getting weird when messing around with parameters.

Sending you a diffuse file for you to test on a grid if you'd like!

Don't know exactly what is wrong here but we have been using ACES in Solaris for a long time now without issues so it does work.

IIRC if you don't use OCIO vray tries to detect the colorspace from the fileformat and the filename. I think if you export as exr from substance it will try to read it as linear instead of sRGB which would explain your darker render.
