  • How to understand f stops on the camera in solaris

Hi, I am used to using a real camera, with real fstop numbers. Is there a way to understand the f stop values in houdini? They seem to be a bit strange or hard to relate to. Thanks

After some testing, I found its really important to check your model scale. If the models are real world scale then the aperture setting should be very familiar. If your not aware that the model is very tiny or very large, then the aperture values to get the right looking DOF will seem strange.

another point I found was to disable motion blur as that was blurring the object on the turntable
