I scattered some rocks using the point instancer in Solaris. I want to matte another object with them but it seems like the Point Instancer primitive doesn't get affected by the render geometry settings node. Is this a common limitation? If so is there a workaround that doesn't involve forcing the point instancer to use references (very slow for big scatters)

Are you talking about some V-Ray related settings or USD/Solaris in general?
If the issue is with some of the V-Ray settings - is it possible to send me .usd/.hip file?
