  • Hiding Subdivs sliders by default unless "use local subdivs" is checked

    Hi,

I'm talking about Subdivs slider in refleciton/refraction section of the Vray material, these sliders don't have an effect unless "use local subdivs" setting is check in the sampler tab.. And Vlado don't recommend using this option anyway
Just like how the GPU UI hides these sliders or they would be greyed out,
I was showing VFH to a colleague yesterday, he is quite new to Vray, and something that he tends to ask about is the subdivs sliders, so probably the right call to grey them out like what I explained..because they could be confusing to new users.
on another note, Brute Force subdivs in the global illumination tab, they are greyed out unless use local subdivs is checked.. This is what I want

I'm logging it but I can't say for certain when this will happen. However, if you come across other cases such as this, please ping us - I'm hoping eventually we'll be able to hide some settings and handle others automatically.

    All the best!

      Thanks Gosho!

No rush at all on this, it doesn't affect how I use VFH.. will probably make it easier for new users so I just thought I write about it here
One note, is that there is subdivs sliders in lights just like materials, I didn't mention that in my original post.
