Hi,
Part of how debug shading, isolate select works in Maya, is that it will isolate selected lights(s)
This is quite handy in look dev, for example I have a studio lighting setup for a car. Around 15 lights in my scene. The current workflow now when making adjustments to a specific light, I would need to select all other lights, then disable them, then select my light again to make my adjustments. Too many clicks and not fun at all to work like that.
Vray for Maya has a perfect workflow for this,
Please skip to 55 seconds
The icon I use in the light lister just selects the light, like how I would select lights in viewport or Outliner
All lights are on and i have isolate select turned on in IPR settings...which isolates a selected light
Is it possible to have something like this in VFH ?
And talking about Vray's light lister, Houdini has its own Light Bank
But unfortunately I cannot change light intensity or color for example there, it just doesn't work with Vray lights
Even the check box for when lights are enabled or not, it doesn't work. What works there is selecting lights and changing a name of a light
So the light bank is mostly useless in Vray's workflow
Cannot you guys get access to these parameters under the hood and make it work with Vray lights somehow?
Or like what Max/Maya and C4D have, by making a light lister UI that we can use from the shelf?
Im not sure how much work this would be, it is probably more complex that what I think and might not be possible at all. Would love to hear from you guys.
And sorry about spamming the forum with posts recently, I do know that you have other things to do and I don't expect replies on all my threads or requests.
I just tend to write things down so I don't forget about them.
Best,
Muhammed
