Hi guys,
I would love it if V-Ray could have its own UDIM bake system. I know this idea has been suggested many times and I would like to re-float the idea here.
My wish has been for V-Ray to come with advanced baking capabilities.
V-Ray should be able to bake complex textures to UDIM tiles and Ptex.
It should be possible to bake down complex material networks into a single, monomythic shader, like the substance painter workflow.
Obviously, nodes like ‘falloff’ will not be supported as those are impossible to bake to a texture.
Please have a look at this cool stuff here as reference and inspiration.
