  • [HOU-2644] custom lut for adaptation

When having dont affect colors(only adaptation) as i have understood it does the variance calculations with the mapping applied. So my feature request is to be able to use custom luts or specifically pick up the lut used from the ocio.config used in the VFB.

Right now we often oversample areas not as visible and undersamples which are more visible when our lut is applied

Not sure i have understood this completely though :P

something like this in clarisse https://clarissewiki.com/4.0/refinement-variance-lut

I've often wondered if having a lut for the adaptation would somehow help with either quality or time savings. In absence of being able to load a specific lut, I've tried to more or less approximate our desired lut tonemapping effects with the built in color mapping controls, and then set the mode back to adaptation only.

I'd love to know from Chaos if having a specific lut in there would somehow be better or more "correct", for Vray? Clarisse and Vray may not have the same needs in this respect so it might be more necessary for them to have this.
