    We have a situation where we want to have some specific eye mattes for use in comp, however because the eye features are behind "glass" (the corneas) there isn't really any way to render these mattes as an AOV. This sort of thing has come up a few times, not just limited to eyes.

    I was thinking, what if there was an extratex slot in the vray material that I could plug in a texture to, and specify the name of a EXR channel.

    Then whenever that shader was evaluated, it would also do the extratex as well.

    This probably breaks the entire architecture of VRay, but maybe someone else has a better idea for an implementation that would solve the problem.
