  • V-Ray 2.0 for Maya Beta 3

    Hello,

    Beta 3 is now on the site; this is the last beta before the official release, so if you find any bugs, please let us know! The changelog since Beta 2 is below.

    V-Ray for Maya 2.0 Beta 3
    =========================

    Modified features:
    (*) Option -materialIDs for ply2vrmesh to preserve primitive groups in .geo files as material IDs;
    (*) Some minor modifications to TexWater in order to produce better results;
    (*) The particleSampler node now supports Instancer geometry;

    Bug fixes:
    (*) Crash with tiled OpenEXR files at the end of rendering;
    (*) The VFB history did not work with Qt for Maya 2012, Linux and Mac OS X builds;
    (*) When exporting to multiple .vrscene files, some types of textures were written to the base file;
    (*) The "trace reflections" and "double sided" options for VRayCarPaintMtl material were not translated properly;
    (*) Some fixes for V-Ray materials in Viewport 2.0 in Maya 2012;
    (*) The choppy displacement for TexWater was inverted;
    (*) Light linking did not work for mesh V-Ray lights;
    (*) Changing values from python for some types of list parameters was not possible;
    (*) V-Ray RT: Image planes caused crash of the standalone render server;
    (*) V-Ray RT: Fixed crash when stopping IPR;
    (*) V-Ray RT: Changes to light linking were not updated in the RT engine;
    (*) V-Ray RT: Improved speed of canceling the render when there is a lot of dynamic geometry like hair and fur;
    (*) V-Ray Standalone: -imgWidth and -imgHeight options did not work properly when there is render region specified in the .vrscene file;

    Best regards,
    Vlado

    Thanks, but title is wrong so it is misleading. It should be beta 3.

      Although the pull down menu of the Memory frame buffer cannot be operated, does it leave GUI?

        It will only be accessible if you select "exr (multichannel)" or "vrimg" as the image file format; all other formats require a memory frame buffer.

            Thank you.
            This is the same thing option as the direct RAW output of 3dsMax.

              Hi,

              I'm guessing the beta will cease to work very soon and if so, on April 29th, will there be a 1.50SP1 version of V-Ray uploaded so that we can use V-Ray for Maya 2012?
