Hi there. I have been trying to create a noise volumetric effect mapping a noise into the density but, not much luck. Any ideas?Im attaching the test file and a pic from the Vray Maya documentation.
You'll need a 3d texture or a projected texture to work with the fog density.
Try assigning the file node as a projection and it should work.
The docs example was either done with a maya 3d noise (like volume noise) or with a projected 2d texture.

Also, don't forget to enable 'alpha is luminance' on your textures (in the color balance rollout) - especially for procedural textures or bitmaps that don't have an alpha channel.
