Can anyone tell me why IPR seems to be so unreliable. Sometimes it works as expected, other times it will work for some time then give up, and yet others it will render the initial image and then simply fail to update afterwards. I'm running a very fast 48-core machine with an Nvidia M6000 GPU, so it's not my hardware. I'm using CPU with default settings.

Do you have any crash logs (.dmp files in your temporary Windows folder, if you are on Windows) that you can send is to support@chaosgroup.com ?

The new debug shading is not usable on GPU.. crashes Maya every 2 or 3 changes so I stopped using it for now.
