Greetings everyone,
I'm working on a 3D ultrasound look and i'm having limited success, I wondered if anyone might have any ideas for how to achieve this look in vray. I've got an opacity ramp shader than looks a bit xray like then i'm slicing it with a vray cutter in a couple inch slice to reveal the ultrasound probe area. It SORT OF works but the biggest problem is since it's an animated fetus the cutter can't actually reveal textured portions of the inside of the child. The cutter doesn't work with UV's on an animated model. So i'm having difficulty giving things true solidity, think CAT scan slice that you can push back and forth on to see different things inside.
I started to experiment with vray metaballs but particles are so clumsy in maya I haven't had much luck yet.
Just wondered if anyone had tried something like this or had any other ideas to give the model ACTUAL insides that are revealed.
