  • Possible to lift LightDome? I need a higher light position

    Hello,
I have taken a sphere and need to position my object lower inside that sphere.
Now I wish to be able to lift the sphere, because I don't want to change the position of my object at 0 0 0.

But the transform only works for rotation...
Is there any workaround or tips for this task?

    Thanks

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do. You can lift the light dome gizmo, but the light dome itself is infinitely far away, so the light it creates will be identical anywhere in your scene.

You can also just use a poly sphere.

There's the ground projection option that you can find in on the PlaceEnvTex node, but it will only reproject the "ground" of your HDRI.

If you want to be able to move the entire image, you might want to consider a different approach - place a sphere around your scene, add a lightMtl to it and add a texture projection (create file node as projection, and set the type to spherical). Then you can adjust the projection parameters or move the sphere.
