  • Vray Next progressive time limit being exceeded.

    Hey guys,

Ive got a scene that has a heavily varied render time depending on what frame. Its a car headlight shot and if youre looking dead into the light, its a longer render, and if youre not, its much shorter. What Ive found though (And this doesnt happen on other scenes) is that even though Ive set a progressive time limit of 8mins, some of the renders are going on for 45mins. This has never happened on any other scene, (I may get a scene that overuns by a couple of mins) and all of my other 14 shots have so far had a limit of 15mins or less, and theyve all been around that or less.

    Anyone else had this issue?

It will be best if you could send an example scene to support@choaosgroup.com so we could have a look. Please make sure to mention this thread in your e-mail.

I found an issue with the scene. Some lenses in the headlights had been modified at the poly level, and since the asset is referenced they freaked out at render time, and made long geo extrusions out the front of the headlight. Once I removed that, the scene rendered under the time limit again. Weird.

Thanks for the update. We are still interested to see the scene. If you decide to send it over you know where to.
