  • Possible to write just Maps out from a Vray-Shading network?

    Hello,

    a special question:
I have made a scene, in which 2 additional normal maps are added on a VrayMtl through 2 more VrayBumpMtl.

Now I looking for a way, to adjust it in other software:
How I can just export the finally composited Normal-Map out, without rendering?

It would be in generell interesting for any kind of map, to be able to get the composited map.

In Maya was a function "Hypershade > Edit > Convert to File Texture (Maya Software)"
but this seems not to support Vray-networks (at least it didn't do anything else than just freezing Maya2018.5)

    Thanks

You could add a bumpNormals render element.
Then in the render settings, go to the common tab and under Baking Engine Settings select Texture baking.
Then select your object and just start a render. You'll need to adjust your resolution to a 1:1 ratio.
This will not produce the same result once the texture is loaded, though, as this will 'flatten' what has previously been 'layered' in a way. But it's a way to bake the result to a texture and reuse it.
