  • VrayFalloff and lightInfo?

    I tried various ways to plug a light into lightInfo to drive a vrayFalloff for self-illumination on a material but it doesn't seem to work.

    This is what I've been trying (sorry..can't do a screenshot here at the moment)
    lightOUT) World Matrix > World Matrix(IN):lightInfo then lightInfo:LightDirection (OUT) to Explicit Direction (IN):VrayFalloff to IllumColor(In):VrayMtl


    If I rotate the light, the data in the Explicit Direction doesn't seem to change/update. I've tried spot lights, directional lights and vray area lights.

    Does the same setup work fine with Maya nodes only?
    I mean can you get the correct result when using Maya nodes only and Software Renderer?
    Furthermore how exactly you would like to drive VRayFalloff with LightInfo? What parameters from LightInfo will drive what parameters of VRayFalloff.
    And one more questions what's the end goal of this setup?
